I LOVED seeing the missionaries in our house (in South Jordan)! Seriously, it brought a huge smile to my face to know that my family is working with them :) Thank you for sending that!! I hope you can help reach that family and that they can be brought back to the gospel. I will share a secret that you all probably know; the missionaries won't bring them back; they will come to church for the love from the members! Keep working!!
Looks like it's been a crazy few weeks hasn't it! It's seriously going by so fast!!
About the letters, I have had people try to send me stuff from my other areas and nothing is getting through. I think the mail  hates me ;) but I do know that you are all writing and that makes me feel loved. I have missed reading the letters from Dad and the boys though. I hope I get a huge package of them soon! Miracles DO happen!

Speaking of miracles. We were able to have the baptism of one of our investigators this week!!!!!! He was baptized on Friday and confirmed yesterday in church and should receive the priesthood next Sunday. It was such a neat experience! And Elder Gervais, who taught him over a year ago, was able to attend his baptism which was such a surprise for him! After more than 2 years of hearing the lessons and going to church sometimes and talking to ALL of the missionaries, he FINALLY was baptized!!!!!! We were thrilled to be a part of it all! We are now going to focus on his wife, so that she can follow him and be baptized in the next few weeks!

We had transfers today but Hermana Humphrey and I are staying the same. Actually most of our zone isn't changing. So I will be here for a few more months! I cant believe I will be finishing my mission in 2 transfers more! 12 weeks!! CRAZY!
Well I hope everyone is in good health; know that I pray for each of you every day! I know this church is true. The mission is hard, but it's SO worth it. EVERY SINGLE HARD MINUTE OF IT!
Thanks for everything cute family!
Love,
Hermana Oliphant

Tuxtla temple
We had a quick trip to Tuxtla this week--to be honest we went to see the mission doctor--but we ended up being able to go to the temple! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wonderful to finally be back in the Lord's house after more than a year! I LOVE the Spirit that can always be felt in the Temple. I wish I could be like Mom and go there every single night! :)
I was able to do the work for an American! Cool huh?  AND the Sister who helped me at the end, was an hermana from my ward in Tuxtla so that was fun to see her again!

Well we have just been teaching and working on finding the chosen ones. Many people are put in our path every day and we teach as many lessons as we can but in the end it comes down to them choosing whether or not to accept our message. It's been hard to watch people make the choice, but it has helped me to realize how important it is that we each gain and look for our own testimonies. If we pray and read the Book of Mormon I know God will answer and let us know that we have the truth!!! It's wonderful, honestly, to know that we can always receive answers to our questions; all we have to do is ask!
We are going to have a baptism interview tonight and then hopefully if everything goes well, he will be baptized on Friday!!!!!! Pray for him!!! and pray for his wife so that she can accept baptism soon!!!! She has been going to church with him a few times so maybe her heart will accept the gospel soon!!!! :)

I am almost finished with Alma in El Libro de Mormon, Where are you?
Well I am about finished with my time in the ciber.

I love you all so much! have a fantastic week!!!

FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!!!!!!!!!!
Well this week we have worked super hard! We ended up having 18 lessons with members, which is the most lessons in one week that I have had with a member. We were basically in a trio because we had a Returned Missionary with us every afternoon! He is here visiting from Mexico city where he is going to school. His brother is our Ward mission leader.
It really helped us realize the importance of members with us in the lessons. We also were able to find a few new families to teach who have stopped going to church. We are excited to help them come back into activity!!!
I sent pictures from C's baptism. She was soooo excited on Saturday to finally be baptized. Her parents didn't want her to join the church, but she is over 18 so she was able to make the choice for herself. We are all hoping and praying that one day her parents will find the truth like she did!

"Gracias hermanas por su regalo enserio :3 la falda la use hoy domingo en mi confirmacion :3 y gracias x la tarjeta q me regalaron y por el canto el dia de mi bautizo. les amo muchisimo enserio son bien chidas!! espero algun dia llegar a ser una exelente misionera como ustedes!! son un gran ejemplo para mi, Dios las bendice siempre!!"  This was a sweet message from the hermana that was baptized last week (Mom couldn't resist adding it to the blog).  And here is a photo of Justyce's clothing that she let the sister choose from so she could have a dress to wear at her confirmation.

OH so we had a fun thing that happened this week.... we arrived at one of our appointments on Thursday and had C and our RM friend with us. Well, we were talking to the sister in front of her house when I noticed that a guy was walking towards us with his bike... and was yelling something about Jehovah.... well, he was also pointing at me and saying other things that we won't write here... But I invited myself into the house and sat down on a chair and C was next to me and my companion on the other side.Hermano RM was standing in the door way and this drunk tried to enter the house but Hermana RM put himself in the doorway. But the drunk guy pushed him, and the drunk man came in and sat himself down right in front of me, like with his face less than a foot away from me and told me that he wants to listen to our message. Well, we were all super uncomfortable, alllllll of us. and Hermano RM looked like he was going to punch the guy in the face if he got any closer to me. And then the drunk man started talking to me about how I am his wife and how I have my house with him and that I should leave with him....... SUPER WEIRD!! Well, we told him that we were going to share something with this family and that he needed to leave but he wouldn't so we told the Hermana we had come to visit that we would come back real soon, sang a song--the shortest song in the hymn book--and then Hermano RM held the man away from us so we could leave the house. Well, poor Hermano RM got stuck pulling the drunk man out of the house and then walked the guy home; while us 3 girls pretty much RAN away as fast as we could! I was soooooooo freaked out because of the way the drunk was talking to me. What a creeper right? THAT is a good reason why we don't drink!!!! One of the MANY reasons why we have the Word of Wisdom!!! :)

Well that is pretty much it for the week!
Here are a few scriptures from my studies!!!
Alma 5:45-46
Mosiah 4:9, 14-15
How should we teach the gospel? :) To whom should we teach? Why do we teach?

I love you!!!!!!

Hello everyone!!! It was sooooo good to talk you you all on Christmas!!! I am so happy that everyone is doing well and that you had a wonderful Christmas!

Talking on the computer with our families!

Well this week, being Christmas, there was a ton of people here visiting the Pueblo so we were able to contact a ton of people!
So Christmas in Mexico is a bit different than at home. Everyone is at parties, drinking, dancing, loud music, fireworks, and not just Christmas Eve, all week long!
I have heard it's the same for New Year's also, but today everyone is kinda in their houses and we haven't heard a ton of music or anything. We will see what happens on Wednesday night!

Grasshoppers and chilies!
We were invited to go to eat dinner with some members of the branch on Christmas Eve and we  are going to go again on New Year's Eve also. I am so glad that they are taking care of us girls here! Last night we also went to their house because we wanted to receive a blessing. They ended up feeding us dinner after and we ate...... GRASSHOPPERS!!! Yes I will send pictures, even though the pictures don't do it justice.. but for real, they weren't that bad! just a little crunchy.....

We have been teaching a cute family with 2 small children. They aren't married but they want to learn more and don't go to any church. We are also really working with another couple so that they can be baptized really soon. He has been investigating the church for a long time and he said that yes he wants to be baptized he just won't accept a date for his baptism!!! We are praying that he accepts a date soon!!! and his wife has never been really interested but last Sunday she came to church with him and then came to the church activities that we had in the week. Hopefully she will find the truth that we have in the Book of Mormon; she is Catholic and doesn't want to accept the Book of Mormon. They are so cute though. They live like 4 houses from us and treat us like grandchildren.  Every time we go they give us milk or tea and cookies or bread.
We had an activity on Tuesday night for Christmas at the church and a lot of people came. I ended up singing like 4 times because they kept asking me to, and then we broke a piñata and they let me break it apart. What an adventure!!! I love being here in the branch of Zanatepec!!!!!!!
Well that's all for today!!! !I hope you all are praying together and have a wonderful week!!!!
 Love
